PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Born from the legendary Los Angeles photo studio, Smashbox is a cosmetics brand with deep roots in photography, establishing its credibility and distinct point of view in the beauty industry. The brand’s visual language, from product design to packaging and campaign imagery, draws inspiration from the culture of photography. This foundation informs not only the aesthetic but also the brand’s voice, creating a  connection between high performance beauty and the professional photography studio.

We used a Phantom Camera to capture super-slow-motion shots of powder explosions. These stills were printed as a 12-frame lenticular, creating the illusion of depth and motion when viewed from different angles. These prints became the covers for our Cover Shots Eye Palettes.

Inspired by the ergonomics and finesse of calligraphy pens, I designed the Always On Liquid Eyeliner component to embody the feeling of precision and control. I collaborated closely with our industrial designer to refine the form and bring this concept to life.
